Canoa Quebrada is a beach located on the eastern coast of the state of Ceará. It is situated 163 km away from Fortaleza and 12 km from the town of Aracati, to which it belongs.
Canoa Quebrada is one of the most popular destinations in Ceará and has been a favorite among hippies since the 1970s. Recently, Canoa Quebrada has been paved, making it a great option for those who want to enjoy the vast Brazilian coastline in peace. This charming village offers numerous guesthouses and a wide range of restaurant choices, attracting an increasing number of people. At night, both locals and tourists gather on the main street, lovingly nicknamed “Broadway,” and groove to the rhythm of Reggae and Forró.
The beach itself is extensive, with clear waters that are pleasant throughout the year. From the beach, you can admire the striking multicolored cliff walls, a distinctive feature of Canoa Quebrada. These cliffs are enchanting up close and have inspired the sand art known as “silicogravura,” which has spread throughout Brazil. Silicogravura involves intricately carved designs on small glass bottles, popularly known as “garrafinhas.”
Prepare to enjoy the laid-back vibes and beauty of Canoa Quebrada’s beach, where you can marvel at the captivating multicolored cliffs and immerse yourself in the local art scene.
